IPL match sunrises hydrabad vs kkr

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bowl

Kane Williamson: First day game here so a little change of tack. Everybody wants to win, and it’s important for us to build on the performance in our last game. Fresh start, new game, but at the end of the day, it’s just about us executing our skills well.

Dinesh Karthik: We have to make the most of it when asked to bat first. We have made three changes to the team, and those players will bring in a breath of fresh air. Big game for us, two big teams playing.

Not the first day game in Hyderabad by the way, though Williamson didn’t play the previous one, so it is the first day game for him.

3.28pm: We’ll have the toss soon.

Brad Maddi: “Its almost 10pm in Dunedin, New Zealand and I have to go to work tomorrow morning after a long weekend. Still I’m rooting for Sunrisers Hyderabad because 1. Its my home team (yes, I’m from hyderabad) and 2. Its Kane Williamson whose leading the team. GO SUNRISERS!!!”

Deepak Gupta: “Good Afternoon Saurabh. I think KKR should drop Kuldeep today espeically after last match. He looked totally devastated and was consoled by 3 players. Its not good for his morale especially before World Cup. Warrier or Cariappa should be in XI for this must win KKR match” – top of the afternoon to you too Deepak. If KKR feel Kuldeep will be better off with a break, I’m sure they’ll rest him. If they feel resting will dent his confidence further, then perhaps not…

3.21pm: Meanwhile, Sunrisers have had problems of their own, with a middle order that’s lived largely in the giant shadow cast by the opening combination of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. Coach Tom Moody isn’t too worried though. “I think you need to look what influence our top order is having and the number of balls they’re facing, compared to a lot of other teams,” he said. Varun Shetty has more here.

3.16pm: Arun: “Time for KKR to prove they are not a one man show. All players need to contribute. A good score will do wonders for DK and his team.” – Speaking of that one man army, Andre Russell gave out a not-so-subtle suggestion after the last game that perhaps KKR ought to consider batting him higher up the order. Agree? Disagree? Read Russell’s thoughts and take our poll.

Nilashish: “I wish Kuldeep is rested today. His confidence took a harder beating than his bowling the other day. Also, uthappa has been pretty ordinary this season. He needs to find his mojo back asap..” – Kuldeep has had a rough time of it so far in the IPL, true. Sreshth Shah observed him from up close and has this analysis on his season so far, and how it nearly brought Kuldeep to breaking point.

3.10pm: This is a bottom half clash, though at the start of the tournament it could have been a top-of-table one. Both teams have slipped after good starts, and both need a win. Knight Riders perhaps need one more. Despite having the player of the tournament so far in Andre Russell, they’ve lost four in four. How the teams look, going into the match? Varun Shetty‘s preview should have you covered.

3.05pm: A sombre note to start the day on, with the news of the attacks in Sri Lanka. Muttiah Muralitharan is a much-loved figure in the Sunrisers camp – in world cricket actually – and our thoughts are with him on what must be a devastatingly difficult day.

Saleque Sufi: “I think its time Shakib gets a game. He is too good a player to leave out match after match ” – it is hard on Shakib, but the limit on four overseas players forces such decisions at times.

Mustafa Moudi: “Yesterday RR finally did what they should have done from the beginning of the season itself, by giving the Captaincy to Smith. I wish we get a similar news today as well from SRH camp, as Williamson doesnt even deserves to be in the Playing XI, let alone being the captain. Warner deserves the Captaincy over anybody in SRH !!” – even if Williamson weren’t in the XI (and I think he definitely deserves to be in it), the vice-captain is Bhuvneshwar, so the captaincy will go to him.

3pm: Hello and welcome to our live ball by ball coverage for the first of today’s double headers, with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Kolkata Knight Riders. Both teams have eight points, though Knight Riders have played one match more than Sunrisers. I am Saurabh Somani and will be joined by Ankur Dhawan on commentary.
